Leaker claims Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti will pack 8,960 CUDA cores

Nvidia's GeForce RTX 50 series launch is just around the corner, and the rumour mill keeps on churning out more details. Leaker Kopite7kimi, known for accurate Nvidia leaks, claims that a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is in the works and could launch alongside the RTX 5080 at CES.

It is claimed that the RTX 5070 Ti will feature up to 8,960 CUDA Cores, translating to 70 streaming multiprocessors. This suggests the card will use a cut-down version of the GB203 GPU, the same chip powering the RTX 5080. Moreover, the leaked information indicates that the RTX 5070 Ti (internally referred to as PG147 SKU 60) will also share the same reference board design as the RTX 5080 (SKU 45), further reinforcing the idea of a cut-down GB203 GPU being used for the 5070 Ti.

The card's power consumption is rumoured to be around 300W, placing it between the RTX 5070 (expected at about 250W) and the RTX 5080 (likely around 400W). However, whether this figure represents the card's Total Graphics Power (TGP) or Thermal Design Power (TDP) is unclear.

Details like clock speeds and memory configuration remain unknown, suggesting that Nvidia is still finalising the specifications. Still, with CES just around the corner, it's expected we will get more details on the RTX 50 series SKUs. Still, Nvidia has a history of adjusting specifications before launch, as seen with the RTX 4080 12GB, which was rebranded as the RTX 4070 Ti following backlash. As such, anything we learn about these SKUs now might be slightly different at launch.
