Activision might be bringing back its old licensed games

For decades, Activision served as one of the biggest publishers of licensed video games, from Marvel titles to Transformers releases, almost all of these games can no longer be purchased due to said licences expiring. That said, it seems Activision / Microsoft might be planning to bring a bunch of them back.

As collated by ResetEra user ‘IDontBeatGames’, the SteamDB listings for a variety of Activision-published licensed games have recently been updated, suggesting that they might be gearing up to bring the titles back from the dead.

Currently, it seems that Acitivison are planning to bring a bunch of their Marvel and Transformers games to Steam in particular, with the updated titles being as follows:

  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1
  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
  • Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions
  • Deadpool
  • Transformers Devastation
  • Transformers: War for Cybertron
  • Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

Activision licensed

Of course, this is but a tiny snippet of all the licensed games released by Activision over the years, with the publisher being responsible for over a dozen Spider-Man games alone.

While we will likely never see the return of a majority of their licensed titles, it is exciting to see that at the very least some of their more popular games appear set to return.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this SteamDB update? Does it mean anything? What other Acitivison-published licensed games would you like to see brought back? Let us know down below.
