Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble to get major 2.0 update

Super Monkey Ball is a unique series with roots stretching back multiple generations now. Following a lengthy absence, the series has returned in a big way with multiple games – including the latest Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble. In a surprise announcement, SEGA has announced that the game is set to get a massive 2.0 update – alongside new crossover characters.

Set to arrive on the 26th of November, the 2.0 update for the (currently) Switch exclusive ‘Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble‘ will bring with it a ton of new and welcome additions, including:

  • Super Punchy Brawl to Battle Mode
  • A new Stage for Banana Hunt
  • Banana Bonus Mode for Time Attack
  • No Miss Challenge Mode
  • Super Speed Option
  • First Person Mode
  • Ultimate EX Stages

While the addition of a first-person mode is likely the most interesting part of the update, in alignment with the release of version 2.0, Banana Rumble will also be receiving a few new playable characters in the form of the vocaloid pop star Hatsune Miku and the king of Monsters Godzilla.

While no price was given for the characters, other such DLC for the game have additional characters priced at roughly £4.50 – so expect it to be around the same cost.

Regardless of whether you get the DLC or not, the free 2.0 update for Banana Rumble is set to bring a ton of cool and appreciated additions to the game when it arrives next week.
