Assassin’s Creed Infinity (Animus) Hub will be “entirely free”

First announced several years ago, Ubisoft is set to consolidate all of its Assassin’s Creed titles through a shared hub previously known as Assassin’s Creed Infinity. Since its initial announcement, plans for the service have changed quite a bit, including a rebranding to the ‘Animus Hub’.

In a post shared to Reddit, Ubisoft took to the platform to refute the rumours which have claimed that AC: Infinity / the Animus Hub would include multiple ways to spend additional money, including subscriptions and paid rewards – stating:

“It has come to our attention that inaccurate rumors have been circulating online regarding the upcoming Animus Hub (ex-codename Infinity). We wanted to take this occasion to clarify that:

  • All the rewards available in the Animus Hub will be entirely free.
  • There are no paid subscriptions or paid battle pass featured in the Animus Hub.
  • Players will have access to regular content & missions at no extra cost.”

The team concluded by claiming that “We will unveil more details about it closer to the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Thank you!”

As mentioned, the Animus Hub was announced as a game launcher of sorts, with it allowing Assassin’s Creed fans to feel more involved in the series as a whole thanks to a dedicated hub – as opposed to Ubisoft’s Connect launcher or other in-game hubs.

While the creation of the Animus Hub seems entirely unnecessary, it is nice at the very least to have now gotten confirmation that the service will hopefully be quite player friendly.

We will have to wait and see exactly what becomes of the Animus Hub when it arrives ahead of Assassin’s Creed Shadows early next year.
