STALKER 2 has officially gone Gold

Initially announced for release all the way back in 2022, GSC Game World encountered a great deal of issues in trying to bring STALKER 2 past the finish line – thanks in no part to the ongoing war in the studio’s home country of Ukraine. With the game finally set to launch later this month, the team have revealed that the game has now officially gone Gold.

Releasing a brief teaser trailer, the team at GSC Game World confirmed that STALKER 2 is set and ready to be released on its intended 20th of November launch date, sating “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl… Gone gold. See you in the Zone, stalkers.”

For the uninitiated, ‘Going Gold’ means that the STALKER 2 master disc has been submitted to the game’s publisher. Following the submission of the gold master, discs can be pressed with finalised software and digital storefronts can upload the 1.0 version of the game ready for release.

It’s a process that every game in development goes through, and means that (aside from post-launch patches) STALKER 2 should be complete and ready to play.

The team at GSC Game World have already teased some of the game’s post-launch plans, including its support for mods, multiplayer and ray-tracing – the full details of which can be found HERE.
