xCloud reportedly coming to LG TVs soon

Recently Microsoft has been pushing its xCloud game streaming service to more and more potential users, with recent reports claiming that the Xbox maker is looking to improve the service further. Part of this plan seems to include the expansion of xCloud to more devices – with LG TVs seemingly next in line.

As reported by dataminer ‘redphx’ via Twitter “The official xCloud app for LG webOS is definitely coming. Today, they added a new file specifically for webOS.”

While we don’t know yet when they plan to launch the app, this marks a major move for Microsoft, whose xCloud app has for the longest time been limited to Samsung TVs (as well as other Android-based TVs).

xCloud LG

As stated above, LG’s smart TVs use their own WebOS, necessitating its own Xbox cloud streaming app in order to function.

Given the popularity of LG TVs, it will be interesting to see what impact this impending launch has on the service – and whether it will line up with the previously-promised improvements.

KitGuru says: What do you think of cloud streaming in general? Is the quality solid enough to use on a big screen TV? What should Microsoft focus on most when it comes to xCloud? Let us know down below.
