Machine Games targets 60FPS on Xbox Series S for Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones and the Great Circie won't fall into the same 30FPS trappings as some other recent Xbox exclusives. Machine Games is targeting a smooth 60FPS for both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Machine Games has always been good about targeting 60FPS on consoles, having built a name for itself on the newer Wolfenstein shooters, all of which run at 60FPS. Indiana Jones is also a first-person game, so the fluidity will no doubt be appreciated.

Speaking with Windows Central, the game's creative director, Axel Torvenius, discussed the technical side of the game, saying:

“It might be that we will release even more details in terms of specifics, technical details, as we get closer to launch, once we see all the telemetry on performance, but what I can tell you is that the ambition is that the game runs at 60fps on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, and that, you know, it shouldn't be compromised in the visuals or the experience of the product”.

The Xbox Series S is often accused of holding next-gen games back or acting as an impedance to developers wanting to develop for the platform. However, the console is clearly still quite capable for newer titles. Recently, the developers behind Stalker 2, which is a day-one Game Pass title, confirmed that they are also aiming to bring 60FPS to Xbox Series S.

KitGuru Says: The chances of me choosing to play a game on console over PC vastly improve if 60FPS is there. Machine Games seems to be one of the rare studios that values 60FPS gameplay over pushing graphical boundaries and actively develops with that in mind.
