8bitdo announces Bluetooth Android controller

8bitdo has amassed a strong reputation over the past few years for their high quality 3rd party controllers, with an emphasis on offering throwback designs and colour schemes to systems of old. Jumping into the telescopic controller space, the company has announced a new Xbox-inspired Bluetooth Android controller.

Launching on the 29th of November, the ‘8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller’ is a telescopic Bluetooth controller which uses the company’s 8bitdo Ultimate controller as a baseline for its design – being of course altered to fit its telescopic nature.

Supporting smartphones between 100mm to 170mm in length, the ‘8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller features Hall Effect Joystick and triggers for a drift-free experience alongside 2 back paddles; a profile switcher and turbo/macro options.

As it uses Bluetooth, the controller comes with a 350mAh battery, allowing for up to 15 hours of uninterrupted use.

Over the years, the mobile gaming controller sphere has expanded greatly, with an increasing number of competing companies creating their own controllers. Hopefully 8bitdo consider releasing a USB-C mobile controller next. The ‘Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller' costs $49.99 and will be available in black or white.
