Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero surpasses three million copies sold

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero broke records during its pre-order-only early access period, and the game has only grown more popular since then. In the first 24 hours after launch, the game had sold over three million copies.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero! is the long-awaited return to a fan-favourite series of Dragon Ball Z games. The Budokai Tenkaichi games were classic 3D fighters, featuring many characters from the Dragon Ball universe, in addition to transformed and fused characters. With Sparking Zero, the team challenged itself in numerous ways, vastly deepening the fighting mechanics and featuring more characters than ever before.

The vast character roster was a huge marketing point for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, featuring more characters than any other Budokai Tenkaichi game, in part thanks to the addition of new characters and variants from newer series, like Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Daima. In total, the game features 182 characters.

So far, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has had glowing reviews from fans, and that level of enjoyment has shown in sales, with the game surpassing three million copies on its first day of sale. Of course, this number also includes pre-orders, of which there were quite a few, as shown by the Steam player numbers on PC during the pre-order early access period.
