Red Dead Redemption will launch at £40 on PC

Red Dead Redemption is a 15 year old game at this point but with it coming to PC for the first time this year, Rockstar doesn't intend to price it like one.

Red Dead Redemption PC pre-orders are now live across all platforms, including Steam. Much like the recent Definitive Edition release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, the PC version will retail at £39.99. While this edition of the game does package the base campaign and the Undead Nightmare expansion, little has been done to improve it over the original, so while you will have access to higher resolutions and frame rates, don't expect remastered textures or any meaningful graphical enhancements.

Like with other Rockstar titles, Red Dead Redemption is likely to hold on to its high price tag for quite a long time. By most accounts, the first game is still very good, continuing the story of John Maston, on the run from his former gang. The game takes place shortly after the events of Red Dead Redemption 2, so if you want to know what happens after all of that drama, this is your opportunity.

Red Dead Redemption releases on PC via the Rockstar Store, Epic Games Store and Steam on the 29th of October.

KitGuru Says: As much as I want to finally play this game, I'm not in a rush to spend £40 on it considering its age. Hopefully that price will come down a bit during sales in December.
