Noctua coolers will be compatible Intel LGA1851 socket

Noctua has announced that all of its CPU coolers and mounting kits designed for Intel's LGA1700 socket will be compatible with the new LGA1851 socket. Moreover, customers can choose to receive free mounting upgrade kits for older heatsink models that do not currently support either the LGA1700 or LGA1851 sockets.

Intel's Core Ultra desktop CPUs will be based on a new LGA1851 socket, replacing the existing LGA1700 platform. While the new Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K, and Core Ultra 5 245K models will not be compatible with LGA1700 motherboards, all Noctua CPU coolers and mounting kits designed for the LGA1700 socket will be compatible with the new LGA1851 socket without any modifications required, ensuring compatibility with the new Z890 motherboards.

For Noctua customers with older heatsinks that do not feature LGA1700 mounting components, the company is offering free mounting kits that can be ordered from its website. To place an order, customers must provide proof of purchase for an eligible Noctua CPU cooler and an LGA1851 CPU or motherboard. Expedited shipping may be available in certain countries, with potential service costs. You can also buy the NM-i17xx-MP83 and NM-i17xx-MP78 sets from Amazon for $8.90/€8.90 (standard) or $9.90/€9.90 (chromax, black).

Customers can also future-proof their Noctua cooler across AMD and Intel platforms with the NM-M1-MP83 or NM-M1-MP78 kits. These include all the SecuFirm2+ mounting hardware for AM5 and LGA1851/LGA1700 sockets and a Torx screwdriver for easy installation.
