New Edifier NeoDots bring unique hybrid drivers and long-lasting battery life

Edifier has made some of our favourite audio gear over the years. Today, the company is launching its latest earbuds, the NeoDots True Wireless, featuring a hybrid driver unit combined with a digital signal processor to improve sound quality on the go.

The combination of dynamic drivers and balanced armature drivers in audio equipment allows a broad frequency response, where dynamic drivers effectively manage low frequencies, delivering deep and rich bass, whilst the balanced armature drivers handle mid and high frequencies ensuring clear and detailed treble. This synergy results in a well-rounded sound profile that enhances the listening experience across different music genres and audio content. The DSP steps in to divide the audio signal into distinct frequency bands, ensuring the right waves are delivered through the optimal driver, improving clarity and detail.

As these are portable wireless earbuds, battery life is going to be a key selling point. The NeoDots offer up to 17 hours of listening time on a single charge, and the included charging case can bring you an extra 56 hours of listening time. 15 minutes in the case will give you five hours of listening time, so you'll never have to go very long without access to your favourite tracks.

The headphones connect via Bluetooth 5.4, the latest version of the standard. Additionally, the earbuds include a low-latency gaming mode that reduces audio latency to under 80ms.

The Edifier NeoDots earbuds are available for £129.99.

KitGuru Says: The NeoDots sound very promising on paper and are much cheaper than Apple's AirPod Pro earbuds.
