Alien Isolation 2 finally announced on ten-year anniversary

It is the ten-year anniversary of the best Alien game made to date, Alien Isolation. Now, after many years of fan requests, SEGA is returning to Alien Isolation for a sequel.

Today, SEGA officially announced its plans for a new Alien Isolation game. Al Hope, Creative Director at Creative Assembly, confirmed the news in a statement today, saying: “On the 10th anniversary, it seems only fitting to let you know that we have heard your distress calls loud and clear. Today, I’m delighted to confirm, on behalf of the team, that a sequel to Alien: Isolation is in early development.”

Creative Assembly moved away from Alien Isolation quickly after its release. The studio put a lot of resources and time into its own multiplayer shooter, Hyenas, but the game was cancelled before its planned launch. Since then, it looks like the team has gone back and reworked its plans to include a new Alien Isolation game, something that would assuredly win over fans.

Unfortunately as the game is still in early development, it could be a couple of years before we see anything official, like a trailer.

KitGuru Says: Fans have been asking for this for a long time. It is unclear why it took this long to greenlight a new Alien Isolation game, but better late than never. Now we just have to hope the sequel can live up to the original.
