Razer launches Freyja Haptic Cushion for gaming chairs, new headsets and more

At RazerCon this year, Razer brought plenty of updates. For starters, Razer's concept for a fully haptic gaming chair has now come to life as the Razer Freyja, a cushion that you can attach to almost any gaming chair for a quick HD haptics upgrade. There are also a few new goodies on the way, including Razer Synapse upgrades, headsets and more.

The Razer Freyja is launching today, priced at $299.99 USD / €299.99. The Freyja incorporates Razer Sensa HD Haptics, enabling dynamic tactile haptic feedback across your entire chair. The haptic feedback will allow you to feel direction, distance and the intensity of in-game actions, powered by six haptic motor actuators, so it will work well with many kinds of games, from shooters to racing games.

The Freyja can be customised through the Razer Nexus app on smartphones, or with Razer Synapse on PC. As this is a cushion, it can be secured to most gaming chairs.

On the peripheral front, Razer is bringing back the Kraken Pro for 2024. The new Kraken V4 Pro is available starting today, priced at £399.99. Like the Freyja, the Kraken V4 Pro also has Razer Sensa HD haptics, so you can get some additional feedback from your headset in supported titles like Final Fantasy 16, Hogwarts Legacy and the upcoming Stalker 2.

This headset is the first from Razer to offer four-way connectivity, including HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth, USB and 3.5mm jack. A control hub with an OLED display allows you to manage customisation options, audio sources and settings, quickly, without having to alt-tab into Windows Settings or Synapse.

Razer has launched some incredibly powerful laptops during its time, but keeping hardware like the RTX 5080 cool can be a difficult task in the confines of a laptop case. The new Laptop Cooling Pad aims to solve issues with laptop cooling, providing a high-velocity 140mm fan that can circulate cool air through your system, reducing CPU and GPU temperatures by as much as 18 percent. While this would make a perfect companion for a Blade laptop, it is also suitable for use with any other 14 to 18-inch laptop.

The Razer Laptop Cooling Pad will be available starting in Q4, priced at £149.99.

The final few updates from Razer today all pertain to software. For starters, a new software update enables Thunderbolt Share on Blade 18 laptops. Secondly, Synapse is getting more than a few new upgrades. After nearly a year of intensive beta testing and valuable input from the community, Razer is officially rolling out the all-new Synapse 4. The latest version is optimised to be 30 percent faster across all tasks, from macro creation to configuration and driver installation.
