Razer brings ‘Snap Tap’ to Blade laptops and older keyboards

Razer rolled out its ‘Snap Tap' feature for Huntsman V3 Pro keyboards a while back, allowing gamers to easily counter-strafe in shooters without having to double tap any keys. Now, Razer is rolling the feature out to more keyboards as part of a free update. 

Razer Snap Tap is available now, for all keyboards supported by Razer Synapse 4, as far back as Razer keyboards launched in 2014. Additionally, Razer Blade laptops will be able to utilise the feature. In the future, Razer plans to extend support to more keyboards, including the Huntsman V2 Analog, Huntsman Mini Analog and Tartarus Pro.

Now it should be noted that Snap Tap has a bit of controversy around it. Valve recently banned the feature from use in Counter-Strike 2 and there is always the potential for other titles to list it as a banned feature for online matches. Fortunately, Snap Tap is disabled by default, so you will have to make the decision to switch it on yourself, and you shouldn't get banned for inadvertently having it switched on by the software.

Currently, the feature is allowed in popular shooters like Valorant and Apex Legends, so if you do play those titles, you are free to use the feature. Just make sure you switch it off if you ever decide to hop on to Counter-Strike, and also stay on top of anti-cheat updates in case a developer pulls the plug.
