Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is coming to smartphones

One of the most popular entries in the Naruto video game sphere is 2008’s Ultimate Ninja Storm. Initially released exclusively on the PlayStation 3, the game is now making its way onto iOS and Android.

For the uninitiated, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is a 1v1 3D fighter with flashy combat and bombastic ultimate moves which retells the story of the original anime series.

Set to arrive in just a few days on the 25th of September, the game will cost $9.99 and includes a bunch of mobile-specific features/changes:

  • New auto-save feature.
  • New control mode selection for battle (casual / manual).
  • New battle assist feature (casual only).
  • Improved controls for battle and free movement.
  • New retry feature for missions.
  • Improved mini-game user interface.
  • Improved tutorial.

The one thing missing from the mobile version is online play – though given the fact that the console/PC versions of the game are now well over a decade old, its use would likely have been minimal.

As smartphones have gotten increasingly powerful, we have seen publishers port more of their console games onto mobile platforms. That said, until now, a majority have been iPhone exclusives – including Resident Evil, Death Stranding and more.

However, given the original target hardware of Ultimate Ninja Storm, hopefully it’ll be playable on significantly more devices.
