AMD reveals upcoming Radeon RX 7800M

A curious update was discovered on the AMD website yesterday. Despite having no official announcement, the Radeon RX 7800M has made an appearance, including detailed specifications for the seemingly upcoming laptop GPU.

The AMD Radeon RX 7000M series utilizes two RDNA3 GPUs: Navi 31 for the RX 7900M and Navi 33 for the RX 7700-7600 series. The Radeon RX 7800M (via @realVictor_M and VideoCardz) comes in the middle of these two, featuring a Navi 32 GPU with 60 CUs (3,840 stream processors).

The RX 7800M shares the same core count as its desktop counterpart but with 48MB of Infinity Cache, a 192-bit memory bus and 12GB of GDDR6 memory. The card is equipped with 18Gbps memory modules, offering a maximum bandwidth of 432GB/s. AMD confirmed that the card would clock at 2,145MHz and have a 180W TGP, matching the lower limit of the RX 7900M. Previous leaks suggest that it will be faster than the RTX 4070 Laptop GPU.

The only device we know that uses the RX 7800M is the OneXGPU 2, an external graphics card solution. However, it shouldn't take long before it appears in a few more devices, like gaming laptops.
