Guilty Gear -Strive- comes to Nintendo Switch next year

First released back in 2021 for PlayStation and PC, Guilty Gear -Strive- is the latest entry in the long-running and much loved 2.5D fighting game series from Arc System Works. In the years since, the game has found its way to additional platforms – with Xbox players getting the game in 2023. Finally, Guilty Gear -Strive- is set to come to Nintendo platforms soon, with a Switch version of the game arriving early next year.

Making the announcement, the team at Arc System Works officially revealed that Guilty Gear -Strive- is coming to the Nintendo Switch, saying:

“Calling New Daredevils! The latest entry in the Guilty Gear series with 3 million players world-wide is coming to Nintendo Switch complete with all 28 characters in the Guilty Gear −Strive− Nintendo Switch Edition! Experience the gorgeous graphics and animations with the intense and immersive gameplay you know and love in all three Nintendo Switch play modes: TV Mode, Tabletop Mode, and Handheld Mode.”

The game is confirmed to be launching on the 23rd of January 2025 and will cost $60. While seemingly quite steep given the game’s age, the Nintendo Switch Edition will include all of the characters and additions from Seasons 1-3, though none of the upcoming 4th Season’s content.

For those who enjoy collecting games physically, Guilty Gear -Strive- will also get a Switch cartridge release – though it is currently unknown whether the full game’s content will be included on the cart itself, or if you’ll need to download a patch or two.

Last but certainly not least, Strive on Switch will include rollback netcode for an added level of stability when playing online – unfortunately, you will be limited to other Switch players as Strive only features crossplay between PlayStation and PC.

Still, with Guilty Gear -Strive- continuing to see post-launch support from ARC System Works, hopefully you won’t struggle to find opponents to face when the game arrives on Switch early next year.
