Indiana Jones and the Great Circle confirmed for Xbox, PC and PS5

Earlier this week, reports claimed that Bethesda and Machine Games' upcoming title, Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, would only be a timed exclusive for Xbox consoles and PC, with plans for a PS5 version in 2025. Last night at Gamescom, Microsoft confirmed exactly that.

The release date trailer for Indiana Jones and The Great Circle has now dropped, months after the game's big reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase in June. After a couple of months of mystery and rumours of a delay, the game's release date has now been set for the 9th of December.

While the game is not playable at Gamescom, Microsoft is showcasing gameplay at the event and so far, the game is looking great. While the game will only be available on Xbox consoles and PC this year, PS5 owners won't have to wait long, as the game is set for a PlayStation release in ‘Spring 2025'.

According to Xbox head, Phil Spencer, this is a continuation of Microsoft's multiplatform ambitions, which were made clear earlier this year with the release of four formerly exclusive games on platforms like the Nintendo Switch and PS5. However, Xbox still maintains that it will evaluate games on a ‘case by case' basis for exclusivity.

KitGuru Says: At this stage, I think Microsoft should just do away with exclusives altogether. This whole ‘case by case' strategy has done nothing but stir up rumours for every single new game announced by Xbox.
