Microsoft begins refunding Redfall Hero Pass buyers

A while back, Microsoft announced that the upcoming Redfall DLC, which promised new playable heroes and had already been sold to players, would no longer be coming out. The planned ‘Hero Pass' has been scrapped and Arkane Austin, the studio behind the game, is also being shut down. Now, Microsoft has finally begun the process of reimbursing players who paid for the scrapped DLC.

If you bought the Redfall Bite Back Edition, your account should be credited with an amount matching the value of the Redfall Hero Pass. In the US, that should mean you get $26.99 back, while in the UK, the figure will be closer to £20.

Several purchasers have now confirmed that they have received their refunds. If you check your Xbox account, you should have a message from Xbox directly confirming the refund.

This comes a little over a month on from Microsoft announcing plans to shut down several studios under the Zenimax umbrella, including Arkane Austin (Redfall, Prey), Tango Gameworks (Ghostwire Tokyo, The Evil Within, Hi-Fi Rush) and Alpha Dog (Might Doom).
