xDefiant finally gets release date and year-one roadmap

XDefiant has had an interesting development. Published by Ubisoft, the upcoming free-to-play first-person shooter has been received with a great deal of positivity during its many public server testing periods. Despite this, the game has suffered from development issues, leading to a bunch of delays. Finally however, xDefiant is set to be released onto the world later this month.

Making the announcement on their blog, the xDefiant team over at Ubisoft said: “Soon is getting…sooner. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Server Test Session! It was exciting to see all the love for the game and the great feedback that was shared. Coming out of the test, we are excited to say that we will launch our Preseason on May 21st on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.  Preseason will last 6 weeks before going into our seasonal cadence.”

Full details on all the preseason content – including maps, modes, factions and more – can be found HERE.

Additionally, the team shared their year-one roadmap, revealing that new seasons (alongside new content) will be dropping every 3 months – totalling 4 new factions; 12 new maps and a dozen new weapons by the end of year one.

Though the game certainly had a rocky development, hopefully its launch goes as well as possible.
