Assassin’s Creed Hexe details leak, game will be part of ‘Infinity’ platform

It has been a couple of years since we first heard about Assassin's Creed Infinity, Ubisoft's platform for future Assassin's Creed campaigns. One of the planned campaigns for Infinity currently in development is codenamed Hexe, and recent reports have shed some early details on what fans can expect and more importantly, when the game will release.

Assassin's Creed Hexe is set to go in a different direction to other recent titles in the series. It is rumoured to be set in Europe during the 16th Century and according to Insider Gaming, it will be more of a linear experience compared to titles like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which leaned heavily into massive open worlds.

Sources also claimed that Hexe will have one main protagonist, named Elsa, who posseses some supernatural abilities. The game may also incorporate a Fear system as a core gameplay mechanic, inspired by the Jack the Ripper DLC from Assassin's Creed: Syndicate. Unfortunately, more specific details continue to elude us, but the game is also supposedly going to include themes of witchcraft, which makes sense for this time period, as tens of thousands were executed during the 16th century due to panic over witches.

Ubisoft won't be ready to officially show Assassin's Creed Hexe for quite some time. The game is reportedly targeting a 2026 launch. Before that, Ubisoft will be releasing Assassin's Creed Red, a dream game for long-time fans of the series due to its Feudal Japan setting.

KitGuru Says: I do hope that Ubisoft starts experimenting with different ideas and themes in future Assassin's Creed titles. If Infinity is supposed to house a range of future campaigns, then adding some variety can only be a good thing.
