Immortals of Aveum to get HDR and FSR 3 update soon

Immortals of Aveum released last year to a rather tepid response, with the game being criticised in part for its technical performance – especially on consoles. Fortunately, with the game now available on PS Plus, Ascendant Studio have promised a major update, adding HDR and AMD’s FSR 3 Frame Generation.

As reported by Digital Foundry (via Eurogamer), Immortals of Aveum is getting two major updates in the not-too-distant future. Patch 1.0.6.3 is in fact already live and adds HDR support to the game – a surprising omission prior to now.

Even more impactful however will be the game’s 1.0.6.4 patch which adds AMD’s FSR 3 frame generation to consoles for (hopefully) significantly improved perceived performance.

PC users aren't being left behind either, as alongside the console’s FSR 3 update, the PC version of Immortals of Aveum will see an update to its pre-existing FSR 3 implementation – adding “support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) monitors and TVs on both PC and consoles, which will improve frame pacing and reduce occurrences of judder or screen tears.”

Immortals of Aveum was unfortunately quite a big miss upon its release last year, primarily due to the sheer abundance of alternative high quality releases. Hopefully the PS+ addition – alongside the future FS3 update – gives it a new leash on life.
