Atlus gives a deeper look at Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance with extended trailer

Last week, Atlus and Sega officially announced that Shin Megami Tensei V would no longer be exclusive to Nintendo Switch. A new, revamped and expanded version of the game, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is now on the way and will be launching across Switch, PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

A new, extended cut trailer for the game has been released, giving us a deeper look at the game. The trailer can be viewed below:

Pre orders for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance are now live on PC (Steam, Windows) PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Digital pre-orders for the Switch version will be coming at a later date but physical copies of the game can be pre-ordered already.

Those who pre-order will receive two “Sacred Treasure” sets, in-game items designed to aid players during their journey through Da’at. This set includes the “Gleam Grenade” which inflicts a small amount of damage to foes and the “Haraedo Bead” which recovers the HP of all allies.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance shakes things up over the original by adding in an additional story path with different outcomes. With that in mind, those who played the original release on Switch back in 2021 may want to jump back in for the new release to experience the new content. The developers behind the game anticipate that it will take players around 80 hours to complete each path, which if you already have experience with Atlus RPGs like the Persona series, shouldn't come as a surprise.

While pre-orders are live now, there is still a bit of a wait ahead for the full release. Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will officially launch on the 21st of June, clashing with the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

KitGuru Says: I ended up skipping this on Switch but am looking forward to finally diving in this year on PC with better graphics and performance. Are any of you planning on picking up SMT Vengeance?
