Atari and MyArcade are working on a 7-inch retro portable console

Over at CES 2024, Atari and MyArcade have announced they're teaming up to release a new handheld gaming console aimed at retro gaming fans. The new portable device is named Game Station Portable and features a 7-inch screen. Unlike the majority of the latest portable gaming consoles, it's not based on Windows.

As noted by GenXGrownUp (via VideoCardz), the Game Station Portable comes equipped with a paddle controller, D-pad, trackball, and dial, making it perfect for traditional games such as Pong. Although Atari has yet to reveal a list of compatible titles, it's known that the upcoming portable console will support over 200 titles.

The device features a standard gamepad and keypads, and the MyArcade team has implemented LEDs around the compatible controller that provide visual signals to players unfamiliar with Atari games. These LEDs only light up if the game demands that particular controller or button. Additionally, the system includes a kickstand and two USB Type-C ports.

The Game Station Portable will retail for $149 and is planned to release in Q4 2024.
