CES 2024: Leo previews the Alphacool Apex Skeleton and new liquid cooling gear

Our next stop at CES this week is Alphacool. Here, Leo gets a closer look at the new Apex Skeleton cases, new CPU coolers and some fantastic liquid-cooled systems.

The Apex Skeleton Case arrives in two versions, utilising carbon tubes, metal plates and glass. We're set to review this case in-depth soon, so keep an eye out for our full thoughts on the PC building process. It'll be an expensive case though, with the basic version coming in at around $500 and a pricier enhanced version with a distro plate included for custom liquid cooling and an extra metal panel to hide away cables.

If you're building a workstation, then Alphacool has options with its new ES CPU coolers. These are made for workstation-grade chips like the Intel Xeon or Ryzen Threadripper and it can dissipate up to 900W of heat via four cooling engines directing coolant. On the block, you'll find carbon material to help stiffen the block and make it more robust.

If you are looking to put together your own custom cooling loop, then there is a ton on the way this year. Alphacool now has a whole family of distro plates, with cleanly machined plexi material that almost looks like glass. The core tube reservoir is due very soon too, offering an overhaul in design and aesthetic.
