Philips unveils cheaper Evnia 27M1N5500P with 240Hz refresh rate

Philips has recently launched a new gaming monitor called Evnia 27M1N5500P for the Chinese market. This 27-inch monitor resembles the Momentum 5000 27M1F5500P, launched in May 2022. However, unlike the 2022 model that uses a true 10-bit panel, the new monitor uses one with 8-bit + FRC.

The Evnia 27M1N5500P boasts a 27-inch IPS panel with 2560×1440 resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz. However, the monitor is limited to a refresh rate of 144Hz when connected via HDMI due to the choice to include HDMI 2.0 connectors. To enjoy the full 240Hz refresh rate, the monitor's single DisplayPort 1.4 port must be used.

With 1ms GtG reaction times, 450 nits peak brightness, 1.07 billion colours (8-bit + FRC), and a contrast ratio of 1,200:1, this monitor should offer a pretty good gaming experience. It is also VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified and covers 90% of the Adobe RGB colour palette (99.8% sRGB), making it suitable for graphic designers. The included ergonomic stand allows users to tilt, adjust height, swivel, and pivot. Alternatively, you can replace the stand with a monitor arm (VESA 100×100).

In China, the Evnia 27M1N5500P is priced at CNY 1,999 (about $282). However, it doesn't seem exclusive to the region, as Philips has already published the English-language product overview (via Notebookcheck).

KitGuru says: If Philips prices the Evnia 27M1N5500P in Europe and the US at the same price as in China, this monitor could easily become a sales success.
