Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Hidden Treasure of Area Zero expansion wraps up in December

Back in February during a Pokemon Presents stream, Game Freak officially unveiled two upcoming expansions for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. We went months without an update but Part 1 of the Hidden Treasure expansion arrived in September and now, it looks like the Scarlet/Violet saga is all set to wrap up with the release of Part 2 in December.

Today, The Pokemon Company confirmed that The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk will launch on the 14th of December. In this DLC, players will be taken to Blueberry Academy, an advanced school in the middle of the ocean. From there, players can expect to explore new open areas and face off against plenty of rival trainers.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask came to Switch in September but didn't generate much noise, although this was also the same month as behemoth launches like Baldur's Gate 3 and Starfield. Perhaps now that Part 2 is arriving at a quieter part of the year, we'll see a bit more buzz.

With the release of this expansion, Game Freak will move on from the Scarlet and Violet era to focus on a new generation of Pokemon games, which we'll no doubt get a look at in 2024.
