New Intel Core i9-14900KF benchmark shows improved single-core performance over Core i9-13900KS

We've already seen benchmark listings for the upcoming Core i9-14900K CPU but now, we also have initial benchmark scores for the Core i9-14900KF, with the highest scoring sample having a 13 percent single-core performance uplift compared to the Core i9-13900KS. 

Twitter account @Benchleaks has shared various Geekbench 5 and 6 entries featuring Intel's upcoming flagship processor. @OneRaichu, a hardware enthusiast who was fortunate enough to obtain one of these chips before release, was the author of all of them.

In total, there are 10 Geekbench entries, of which seven were done on Geekbench 6 and the remaining three on Geekbench 5. Of all, the highest single-core score achieved was 3,497, which turns out to be 13% faster than the Core i9-13900KS. As for the multi-core score, the highest one was 23,186, about 7% faster than Intel's current flagship CPU. Compared to the Core i9-13900K/KF, the performance uplift is even more noticeable, with the single-core and multi-core scores of the upcoming CPU being 18% and 16% higher, respectively.

One thing we've noticed is that all the highest scores have one difference compared to the lower ones: the topology only counts 16 cores instead of 24 cores. That would imply OneRaichu disabled a cluster of E-cores, but given the benchmark still reads 32 threads, we can't say for sure.

According to the most recent rumours, Intel will launch its 14th Generation Core K-series CPUs on October 17th.

KitGuru says: Compared to the first Geekbench entries, these ones are much more promising. Fortunately, we won't have to wait much longer to see if the new i9 CPU will indeed bring a +15% performance improvement over the previous generation's equivalent.
