EA Sports WRC reveal trailer confirms November release date

EA Sports has officially revealed the new WRC game. Developed by Codemasters using Unreal Engine, EA Sports WRC is the upcoming official FIA World Rally Championship game coming to current-gen consoles and PC.

EA Sports WRC combines Unreal Engine's capabilities with the DiRT Rally series's physics to produce more realistic stages. Featuring 18 authentic FIA World Rally Championship locations and over 600km of harsh asphalt, gravel, and snow stages, the game also includes 10 current WRC, WRC2, and Junior WRC vehicles, as well as 68 classic rally cars. Working with brands such as Ford, Toyota, and Hyundai, each car is designed to handle every difficulty that the season will throw at it.

The new Dynamic Handling System enhances Codemasters' original design, giving players the most realistic off-road experience ever delivered by the developer. Much of that was thanks to 2023 FIA European Rally Championship ERC3 champion and game designer Jon Armstrong. The realism extends to the audio, with each vehicle meticulously duplicated and new pace notes.

Builder brings the desire of individuals who want to create their own modern-era rally vehicle to fruition. Choose the chassis, body shells, and critical mechanical pieces before personalising the inside and exterior using the livery editor. As for the online component, the game will support 32-player cross-platform multiplayer and Clubs, community-built centres delivering personalised competitions. Moreover, there is also the Moments mode, which allows users to experience scenes from the 2023 season as well as iconic occurrences from the sport's history. EA Sports WRC will release on November 3rd, 2023, but early access for digital pre-order customers starts on October 31st.

KitGuru says: Are you a fan of the Dirt Rally series? Are you interested in EA Sports WRC? Do you think Codemasters will do a better job with the WRC license than the previous studio did?
