Bandai Namco is opening a physical store in London

With the increasing adoption of digital media, there is less and less of a need for physical gaming stores. That said, they can be quite fun – especially if they are dedicated to a single publisher. Such is the case with the upcoming ‘Bandai Namco Cross Store’ set to open in London next month.

As reported by Gamesindustry.biz, Bandai Namco has announced that they will be opening a dedicated store in London next month. Set to be located in Camden Market, the shops are said to be a “celebration of the physical market and Bandai Namco’s heritage as a worldwide entertainment company.”

The store will comprise six different shops and is described as an “interactive retail experience” where customers will be able to “see, touch and experience’ characters, products, events.”

The Bandai Namco Cross Store marks the first shop from the publisher to be built outside of Japan, marking a big moment for both Bandai Namco and UK-based fans. Speaking on the opening of this new store, the MD for Bandai Namco Amusement Europe – John McKenzie – said:

“Camden, London, is widely recognised as offering an eclectic mix of cultural products and art. It is the perfect location to launch our Bandai Namco Cross Store concept in the UK which combines our expertise in locations-based entertainment with a rapidly growing demand for IP and concepts originating from our group’s Japanese culture.”
