KOTOR 2 cut content DLC for Nintendo Switch scrapped

Back in April KitGuru noted that Aspyr has remained eerily silent on the upcoming Cut Content DLC for Knights of the Old Republic 2. For many, this was a key selling point for the Switch version and would have marked the first time this content was made available through an official release. Unfortunately, Aspyr has dropped plans to release the DLC.

In an update on Friday evening, Aspyr officially confirmed that it has cancelled the cut content DLC for KOTOR 2 on the Switch. We didn't get a specific reason as to why the content couldn't be released, which is unfortunate after close to a year of waiting.

Still, Aspyr will do right by those who purchased KOTOR II on the Switch with this DLC in mind. Those who have a receipt for the game can message Aspyr support and get a free Switch download code for one of the many other Star Wars Switch ports Aspyr has handled, including The Force Unleashed, Republic Commando, Jedi Knight Academy and Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. Star Wars: Episode I Racer is also an eligible game to claim.

The cut content mod for KOTOR II has been available for PC players for many years at this point and Aspyr had contacted some of the modders who previously worked on the content. Unfortunately for whatever reason, limitations got in the way of the release.

KitGuru Says: This was unfortunate news to see just ahead of the weekend. I've been keeping a close eye out for news on this DLC myself.
