Nvidia rumoured to be planning a 16GB RTX 4060 Ti

With newer games requiring larger amounts of memory to run at higher graphics settings, there has been concern around continued 8GB GPU launches. With the RTX 4060 series coming up, rumours have pointed to an 8GB model, but according to new rumours, Nvidia might also be cooking up a 16GB version of the RTX 4060 Ti.

According to MEGAsizeGPU, Nvidia plans to announce three SKUs of the upcoming GeForce RTX 4060 series this month, with two models slated for a July launch. The RTX 4060 Ti with 8GB VRAM is expected to hit shelves this month, while the 16GB SKU and the RTX 4060 (8GB) will apparently be available in July.

A 16GB version of the RTX 4060 Ti would be unexpected and it is worth noting that we've seen rumours like this previously, which did not turn out to be true. Nvidia was also said to be working on a 20GB RTX 3080 and a 16GB RTX 3070 during the previous generation, neither of which made it to market.

Exactly when Nvidia will officially announce its new graphics cards remains to be seen, but Computex is right around the corner, so there is a good chance we'll see an announcement then.

KitGuru says: Do you think we'll start to see Nvidia bumping up the VRAM for its graphics cards moving forward?
