MSI launch new GTX 465/470 Twin Frozr II cards

KitGuru recently reviewed the MSI R5870 Lightning video card, one of the fastest video cards currently on the planet. They have just announced new custom cooled GF100 cards, the N470GTX Twin Frozr II, N465GTX Twin Frozr II and N465GTX Twin Frozr II Golden Edition solutions.

These cards follow the same guidelines as the R5870 we reviewed, with ‘military' class components and a Twin Frozr II cooler with five heatpipes and twin fan solution. The Golden Edition cards differ slightly in that they use a complete all-copper design while the others are aluminium.

MSI are keen to promote the benefits, with reductions in temperatures by 16 degrees when loaded and noise output reduced by 21.5dBa.

Both N465GTX Twin Frozr II cards feature 352 CUDA cores and work at 607MHz for the GPU, 1215MHz for shaders and 3206MHz for 1GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 256-bit memory interface.

The N470GTX Twin Frozr feature 448 CUDA cores and operate at 607MHz GPU, 1215MHz  shaders and 3348MHz for 1280MB of GDDR5 memory paired up with a 320-bit memory interface.

We have no pricing information or availability dates yet, but we will keep you posted.

KitGuru says: These are going to be class leading cards for their sectors if they are anything like the R5870 we reviewed.

  1. These look fantastic – i loved the review of the R5870, what a card that was!

  2. Their cooling solutions are really good, not sure if they have the edge yet over sapphires cards, but they run close regardless.

  3. I’ve got a Gigabyte GTX465, and it’s got a customer dual fan cooler which allows me to run it stable at 780Mhz (stockedis 607Mhz) without volt tweaking. I wonder how fast these will go with their redesign layout and high quality components.
