Samsung prepare sales block against iPhone 5 ?

Samsung are preparing a legal strategy to block sales of Apple's upcoming iPhone 5 when it arrives in Korea, according to new reports.

Insiders linked to The Korea Times are claiming that Samsung are planning to immediately take the legal action to the next series of products when Apple plan to release the iPhone 5 in Korea. Apple centric sites such as AppleInsider have already reported on the findings.

A senior executive from Samsung Electronics, who didn't want to be identified spoke to The Korean Times and said “Just after the arrival of the iPhone 5 here, Samsung plans to take Apple to court here for its violation of Samsung’s wireless technology related patents.”

The unnamed source added “For as long as Apple does not drop mobile telecommunications functions, it would be impossible for it to sell its i-branded products without using our patents. We will stick to a strong stance against Apple during the lingering legal fights.”

Samsung and Apple have been locked in legal action now for a while and relations are not getting any better. Last week, this was compounded by revelations linking a former Samsung manager to leaked information on the iPad when he worked for the company in 2009.

Currently, there are 23 patent lawsuits in dispute between Apple and Samsung throughout a handful of countries across the globe. Apple have managed to cause some sales disruption for Samsung in a few countries, such as Germany. They are currently unable to sell the Galaxy Tab 10.1 here, until legal action is resolved.

  1. Well, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

  2. Is this a case of Apple’s left hand did not know what the right hand was doing?

If Samsung brings out its own ban hammer then it could mark the end of the entire affair as I think both will have to reach a settlement.

I don’t think i can picture both Samsung and Apple going all the way down the rabbit hole on something as massive as this could get.

  3. Bring down apple and their horrible ways of trying to win the market, end them once and for all
