Physical ‘The Last of Us Part I Firefly Edition’ announced for PC

The Last of Us Part I is 6 weeks away from launching on PC – being the first game in the series to do so. In an interesting move for the platform, Sony has now announced that you will be able to purchase a physical PC collectors edition of the game dubbed the ‘Firefly Edition’ – though sales are limited.

Making the announcement on Twitter, Naughty Dog officially revealed that “The Last of Us Part I Firefly Edition for PC on Steam is also available for pre-purchase until release on 3.28.23, including a SteelBook case, comics, and more!”

A Firefly Edition was released for the PlayStation 5 when The Last of Us Part I came to the system last year, but supplies were heavily restricted and only a tiny selection of countries were able to purchase it. The PC version of the Firefly Edition is still region-limited, but is now being offered in more than half a dozen countries including the UK.

The Last of Us Part I Firefly Edition costs £99.99 and will include:

  • The Last of Us single-player story and Left Behind prequel chapter for PC
  • Limited edition SteelBook display case
  • The Last of Us: American Dreams Comics #1 – #4 with new cover art
  • Early unlock of some in-game items

Though coming as no surprise to PC players, this Firefly Edition does not come with a physical disc, instead a Steam code is included in the package – though to be honest this is far from an issue especially as the steelbook case is still included.

The PS5 version of the Firefly Edition sold out incredibly quickly. With no new stock being offered. As such, if you did have an interest in this special release it would behove you to not delay.
