Two more alleged hackers arrested in UK

The Metropolitan Police in London have arrested two people said to be associated with high profile hacking groups Lulzsec and Anonymous.

The two men are aged 20 and 24 according to the reports, and they have been arrested for conspiring to commit alleged computer offenses under the online identity Kayla.

The men are said to be from Wiltshire and South Yorkshire in the United Kingdom and have been detained in London and South Yorkshire stations. Computer equipment is now under forensic examination.

The online identity ‘Kayla' has been used in several chat rooms and social networking platforms by people said to be involved with Lulzsec and Anonymous.

Graham Cluley, a consultant in Sophos said “Kayla, alongside the likes of Sabu, Topiary and Tflow, is considered to be one of the key figures in the LulzSec hacking gang, However, Kayla has presented herself online to be a giggly 16-year-old girl.”

Mark Raymond, a detective inspector from the Met Police Central e-Crime unit said “The arrests relate to our enquiries into a series of serious computer intrusions and online denial-of-service attacks recently suffered by a number of multinational companies, public institutions and government and law enforcement agencies in Great Britain and the United States.

We are working to detect and bring before the courts those responsible for these offences, to disrupt such groups, and to deter others thinking of participating in this type of criminal activity.”

Kitguru says: No confirmation yet if the two men are genuinely linked to Anonymous or Lulzec.
