Neon White is officially coming to PlayStation this month

Just yesterday we reported that Neon White – the breakout indie hit – was seemingly coming to PlayStation due to a leaked listing on the New Zealand PlayStation Store. Now, this has been confirmed, with PlayStation announcing that Neon White will be arriving later this month.

Making the official announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Ben Esposito, the Game Director at Angel Matrix revealed that “Neon White launches on PS5 and PS4 December 13.”

For the uninitiated, Neon White is a “lightning fast first-person action game about exterminating demons in Heaven. You are White, an assassin handpicked from Hell to compete with other demon slayers for a chance to live permanently in Heaven. The other assassins seem familiar, though… did you know them in a past life?”

Neon White will take advantage of many of the PS5’s unique features, including running at 120fps for maximum fluidity and precision. This is also aided by the PS5’s SSD which allows you to restart levels instantly. Furthermore, the game will also support the DualSense’s adaptive triggers, which is said to “make each Soul Card feel unique when you fire them as well as when you discard.”

The DualSense’s haptics are also put to great use, with Esposito saying “You’ll feel it when you’re moving faster on water and you’ll get a subtle confirmation when you successfully snipe a distant demon. Our goal wasn’t just to make you feel cool, but for you to develop a sixth sense. To turn you into a speedrunning freak.”

Finally, Neon White on PlayStation will support gyro controls, which in combination with all the other controls, should make for an incredibly smooth and highly accurate experience. Neon White launches on PlayStation 4 and PS5 on the 13th of December.
