Corsair EX100U 2TB External SSD Review

Rating: 8.0.

Corsair's latest external SSD is the EX100U. A very compact drive – and that's putting it mildly! – it uses a USB 3.2 Gen2 x 2 interface for fast data transfers. We check out the 2TB model, priced around the £200 mark, to find out if it is worth your cash.

Corsair's EX100U is available in three capacities; 1TB, 2TB (the drive we are reviewing) and a flagship 4TB model. All three have the same Sequential read/write official ratings; up to 1,600MB/s and up to 1,500MB/s respectively. Details as to what's being used inside the drive are pretty much non-existent but one interesting thing that the CrystalDiskInfo utility did pick up is that the drives architecture is NVMe 1.0/1.1 standard instead of the more modern 1.3 version.

Corsair back the EX100U series with a three-year warranty.
