Rumour claims RTX 4070 to be as powerful as RTX 3090 Ti

Although they're not official, many were let down by the rumoured specifications of the RTX 4070, with early rumours claiming the card would feature 10GB of GDDR6 memory across a 160-bit memory bus. However, a more recent report suggests the upcoming SKU might end up faster than initially expected.

The latest report regarding the RTX 4070 posted by kopite7kimi claims the graphics card may use the PG141-SKU331 with a fully enabled AD104 GPU. This SKU was revealed a few days ago, but back then, it was unclear how it would fit within the RTX 40 series. Now that more information has come to light, it looks like it will be a replacement for the PG141-SKU341, thought to be used on the RTX 4070.

With a full AD104 GPU, the number of CUDA cores of the RTX 4070 increased from 7,168 to 7,680. Moreover, the memory configuration was upgraded too, now listed with 12GB of GDDR6X at 21Gbps on a 192-bit memory bus. Despite all the upgrades, the TDP is expected to remain the same, rumoured to be set at 300W.

Nvidia has not officially announced a new generation of RTX graphics cards yet or confirmed any details. However, it is expected that new Nvidia graphics cards will launch later this year.

KitGuru says: For now, this is all rumour, but there is no denying that getting x90Ti level performance in an x70 series card would be an impressive generational jump.
