Adata launches Legend 960 PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD

Adata will soon expand its SSD offerings with the Legend 960. Aimed at creators and professionals, the built-in heatspreader allows you to mount the SSD in desktops and compact notebooks. However, even if not directed at gamers, you can also mount the Legend 960 inside a PS5.

Available with up to 2TB of storage capacity, the Legend 960 uses most of the PCIe 4.0 standard theoretical maximum speed thanks to the SMI SM2264 SSD controller. More specifically, the SSD is capable of sequential read speeds going as high as 7,400 Mbps (6,400 Mbps on PS5) and sequential write speeds reaching 6,800 Mbps. Random 4K read performance is rated at a maximum of 750K IOPS, and random 4K write performance at up to 630K.

The rated durability of 1560 TBW and the MTBF (mean time between failure) of 2M hours show that this SSD is built to be reliable over time. Buyers will also benefit from a 5-year warranty and various security features, like LDPC and AES 256-bit encryption.

Adata recommends that Legend 960 buyers use the SSD ToolBox to monitor the SSD's health and temperatures as well as update the firmware.
