The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a new survival crafting game set in Middle-Earth

Epic Games recently held an event to announce new games and share updates on previously announced titles. Out of all the announcements, the most surprising was the new The Lord of the Rings game, a survival game with building mechanics set in the Fourth Age (after the movies).

Developed by Free Range Games and North Beach Games and made in partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises, LOTR: Return to Moria lets you play as a dwarf in the Misty Mountains. Summoned by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, you and your party are entrusted with reclaiming the spoils from Moria, more specifically the Khazad-dûm/Dwarrowdelf. The game features procedurally generated worlds to increase scenario variety. Moreover, you can either go solo or explore with a party of friends.

As a survival game, you'll have to manage your character (sleep, temperature and noise levels) and look for food and other resources for crafting gear. You'll also have to be careful of monsters' attacks and learn to use the game's lighting system to keep yourself alive. Get creative when constructing: use the environment or look for open areas for total freedom. During your journey, you'll find artefacts that will help you survive, gather resources and rebuild the Dwarven heritage.

The game will be exclusive to the Epic Game Store at launch. Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.
