Street Fighter 6 is heading to PlayStation, Xbox and PC

A few weeks ago, we learned that Capcom would be revealing more about Street Fighter 6 very soon. Last night during State of Play, not only did Capcom have new announcements for Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village, but the publisher also revealed a new gameplay trailer for Street Fighter 6.

Street Fighter 6 is on track to release in 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The game is not coming to Microsoft's last-gen Xbox One system, but Street Fighter 6 does mark a return for the franchise on Xbox, as Street Fighter 5 was a PS4 console exclusive.

Street Fighter 6 is built on the RE Engine, which has powered Capcom's major releases for a few years now. The game will include three game modes – Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub. There will also be a single-player adventure mode and a training mode so you can practise combos.

Only a few characters have been revealed for the final roster so far, but a recent leak indicates that there will be 22 characters in Street Fighter 6 at launch, although some of these may be planned DLC for post-launch.

KitGuru Says: Capcom has more Street Fighter 6 announcements planned for later in the year. We'll likely get a new trailer at EVO in August, and hopefully a proper release date before the end of the year.
