More than 50 games are leaving PlayStation Now

PlayStation Now is Sony’s game subscription service, allowing you to stream and download a long list of games for one monthly price. As Sony prepares for the upcoming merging of PS Now with PlayStation Plus, more than 50 games are being removed from the former service.

Ahead of the upcoming release of Sony’s revamped PS Plus service, the console manufacturer stealthily announced that more than 50 games would be leaving the soon-to-be-defunct PS Now. Though almost all of the 700+ PS Now games currently available seem to be transferring over to Sony’s new higher PS Plus tiers, eagle-eyed subscribers noted that a total of 56 games seem to not be making the cut.

The full list of titles can be found HERE, but some of the biggest games set to be removed next month includes: Metal Gear Solid 4; MGS V; Silent Hill HD Collection; a plethora of Sonic games; Yakuza 4 and 5; and Catherine – to name but a few.

As can be seen, a large number of the games set to be removed include titles from SEGA and Konami, suggesting that the publishers and Sony may not have been able to come to a consensus licensing-wise.

While the upcoming PS Plus revamp will launch with more than enough games to satisfy, it is unfortunate to see some of the most well-loved PS Now titles not making the list. Hopefully all of these games make their way back onto the service at some point in the future.
