Gearbox confirms crossplay across all platforms for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Sony was initially very resistant to allowing game developers to enable cross-platform multiplayer in their games. This unfortunately had an impact on Borderlands 3, which received cross-play on all platforms except PlayStation. Fortunately whatever hang-ups that were present previously have been resolved just in time for the release of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands.

Gearbox has a Borderlands spin-off game coming next week – Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, and like Borderlands 3, the game will feature cross-play, so friends can group up and play together without platform restrictions. This time around, PlayStation is included in cross-play plans, so Xbox, PlayStation and PC players will all be able to team up.

This was confirmed by Gearbox founder, Randy Pitchford, on Twitter last night, saying: “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will ship on March 25 with full cross play for all platforms at launch, including PlayStation. Incredible work from the engineers at Gearbox Software with thanks to our partners at 2k Games and 1st parties, including Sony, for working together on this.”

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands features a full co-op campaign and has more of a fantasy setting compared to the other Borderlands titles. The game officially releases on the 25th of March.

KitGuru Says: There has been surprisingly little buzz around this game recently, although we've had some other major launches recently, including Destiny 2: The Witch Queen and of course, Elden Ring. Next up on the dock is Bethesda's Ghostwire: Tokyo, so there is plenty of competition floating around in Q1.
