Nvidia launches RTX 2050, MX570 and MX550 laptop GPUs

Nvidia decided to surprise everyone by announcing three new entry-level laptop GPUs ahead of CES 2022: the RTX 2050, MX570 and MX550. The first laptops featuring the new GPUs should roll out early next year.

Starting with the RTX 2050, Nvidia's latest ray-tracing capable laptop GPU, packing a GA107 die with 2048 CUDA cores, 128 more than the RTX 2060, and a maximum boost clock frequency of 1477MHz. The memory subsystem consists of 4GB of GDDR6 memory running at 14Gbps across a 64-bit memory bus, and the TGP is set in the 30-45W range.

Moving to the MX570 and MX550, the official specifications suggest both GPUs are identical. Speaking with ComputerBase, Nvidia confirmed that the the MX570 will also use the GA107. As for the MX550, it will be based on the TU117 GPU.

According to Nvidia, the first laptops with these GPUs should be available in Spring 2022.

KitGuru says: Nvidia is rolling out more entry-level GPU options and we expect to see the same from AMD in early 2022, in addition to the first laptop GPUs from Intel.
