Gigabyte’s new M27Q X gaming monitor boasts WQHD resolution at 240Hz

Gigabyte is adding a new 240Hz gaming monitor to its display portfolio – the M27Q X. This monitor seems to share the same stand and casing as the standard M27Q and G27 monitors, but makes the jump to 1440p resolution and 240Hz refresh rate.

Like the original M27Q, the M27Q X brings a 27-inch IPS panel with QHD resolution, 1ms G2G response time and 10-bit coloured depth (8-bit + FRC), instead of having a 170Hz refresh rate, it goes as high as 240Hz. The rated contrast ratio is set at 1000:1 and brightness at 350nits (typical), allowing the monitor to cover 92% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and 140% of the sRGB colour gamut. Lastly, it's VESA DisplayHDR 400-certified, meaning brightness should peak at 400nits.

The Gigabyte M27Q X support AMD FreeSync Premium to reduce tearing while gaming, as well as multiple overlay options, including a crosshair, system dashboard, timer and frame counter. Other functions include PiP/PbP capabilities, a Black Equalizer option that brightens up darker scenes, flicker-free and low blue light technologies to reduce eye strain and an Aim Stabilizer Sync feature that reduces motion blur – which can be activated at the same time as Adaptive sync technologies.

Connectivity options include 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 (HBR3), a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB 3.0 upstream port, 2x USB-A ports and a USB-C port with DP alt. mode, upstream capabilities and capable of delivering up to 18W of power. Moreover, the monitor features 2x 2W speakers and a KVM switch. The included stand allows you to tilt and adjust the monitor's height, but you replace it with a VESA 100x100mm monitor arm.
