Shure launches its first true wireless earbuds

World-renowned audio gear company, Shure, has finally launched its own set of true wireless earbuds – the Aonic Free. Shure's new earbuds aim to deliver the same quality you would expect from Aonic earphones in a new compact, cable-free design.

Based on the Aonic 215 Gen 2, the Shure Aonic Free features a premium amplifier and driver combination. Users may control the volume, pick up calls, and play or skip between tracks by pressing the left or right earbud. The battery can last for 21 hours, and the included charging case can carry two full charges. A 15-minute charge can extend the earbuds' battery life by 1 hour.

Like most high-end TWS earbuds, the Aonic Free offer noise cancellation technology to block environmental noise when turned on. On the other hand, there's the “Environmental” mode to enable the exterior-facing microphones, allowing you to listen to your surroundings. The earbuds also use beamforming DSP mics to isolate the user’s voice for calls, blocking out environmental noise.

Controls, sound settings and buttons can be customised through the ShurePlus Play app. Available for $199, the Shure Aonic Free package includes a fit kit with foam sleeves of various sizes, a compact charging case and a USB-C charging cable.

KitGuru says: If history serves us right, the Aonic Free should carry the same quality that Shure products are known for.
