AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5975WX with 32 cores spotted

While the jury is still out on whether or not AMD will release Ryzen Threadripper 5000 (Chagall) series processors, it would seem that at the very least, Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5000WX series processors are on the way. This time around, the Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5975WX was spotted on Geekbench, sporting 32 cores.

We had previously shared benchmarks running on Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX and 5945WX processors. However, today we came to share with you a Geekbench entry (via VideoCardz) of a system named “Cloudripper-CGL” featuring 128GB of RAM and the 32-core Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5975WX.

The base clock frequency seems to be set at 3.6GHz, but it boosted up to 4.53GHz during the test. The processor scored a whopping 1686 points in the single-core benchmark and 27603 points in the multi-core benchmark. If we compare these scores with the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X, which also features 32x cores, the Threadripper 5975WX was 34% faster in the single-core workload and 23% in the multi-core test.

The entry proves once again that we will eventually have new Ryzen Threadripper CPUs. However, according to @ExecuFix, it might be the only series we will get. The Chagall-HEDT series (aka Ryzen Threadripper 5000) has reportedly been cancelled, meaning that those looking for a HEDT processor from AMD will have to choose between a workstation CPU, such as the Ryzen Threadripper 5000WX, and a mainstream CPU with many cores, like the Ryzen 9 5950X.
