What to expect from tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct stream

Rumours have been swirling about the next Nintendo Direct stream for months now. At the start of September, we began hearing that there would be something happening later this month. As it turns out, Nintendo does have a big stream planned, and it will be taking place tomorrow.

Today, Nintendo announced that it will be airing its next Nintendo Direct on the 23rd of September at 3PM PT, or 11PM for those of us in the UK. Just as previously leaked, this Direct will include 40 minutes of announcements and trailers, focusing mainly on games releasing ‘this winter' – so we'll see new trailers for titles releasing before the end of this year, and perhaps a couple for very early 2022.

We already know about most of the major titles hitting the Switch this holiday season, including the likes of Metroid Dread and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. We'll also be getting Pokémon Legends Arceus in early 2022. Recent leaks have also pointed to a new update for Nintendo Switch Online, including new games from the Game Boy and Nintendo 64 eras.

Recently, PlatinumGames has been vocal about wanting to show Bayonetta 3, and there have been a number of leaks regarding Xenoblade Chronicles 3, which is tipped to be announced during this stream. It is unlikely that we'll get another update on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, as that is widely expected to be coming in late 2022. While Zelda may not make an appearance this time around, it wouldn't be a stretch to expect the final DLC for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to be announced.

KitGuru Says: It looks like we'll be spending 40 minutes with Nintendo tomorrow evening. What are you hoping to see during this Direct? I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Xenoblade news personally.
